POLAR PEACH RECIPE
Ready to try something a little different this year? Switch things up by pairing amber colored Superbells with two of our most popular purple blooms in this sun-loving combination for hanging baskets, upright containers and window boxes. As with all Superbena, Supertunia and Superbells, you won’t need to spend your summer picking off the spent blossoms of these self-cleaning beauties. They’ll bloom non-stop from planting time into autumn even if you don’t deadhead a single flower.
*Best in full sun (6+ hours of sun), tolerates part sun (4-6 hours of afternoon sun).
Superbena Sparkling® Amethyst Verbena
Forming the basis for our Polar Peach recipe is this powerhouse verbena whose longer, trailing stems and full flower clusters provide a structure within which its companions can weave. When first planted, it will have a more upright mounded shape and then will become more spreading and trailing over time. The brightest purple tones in the individual blossoms perfectly complement their Indigo companion.
Supertunia Mini Vista® Indigo Petunia
The deep indigo purple tones of this vigorous petunia give the recipe depth while providing a dark backdrop from which the amber colored calibrachoa really pop. Its dense habit gives the entire planting some major bulk, but you should expect the stems to stay shorter than a standard Supertunia Vista variety, trailing about two feet by late summer.
Superbells® Double Amber Calibrachoa
You might notice the spicy amber blooms first when you pass by this enticing recipe. Their warm hues add a welcoming vibe while their unique rose-like form begs closer inspection by people and hummingbirds alike. The wiry stems of this calibrachoa will weave themselves in and around their companions, popping up here and there between the purple blooms and spilling over the edges of the container.

option 1:
plant your own combo
2x supertunia mini vista® indigo
1x superbena sparkling® amethyst
2x superbells® double amber
Tip For Success:
Calibrachoa and verbena are sensitive to receiving too much moisture and need to be grown in well-drained potting soil. They are perfectly suited for hanging baskets and non-glazed containers which both tend to dry out a little faster than non-porous pots. If the soil feels dry when you stick your finger in about an inch, or when the container feels light for its size, it is time to water again. It’s best to water in the morning and to direct the water towards the roots rather than wetting the foliage.
*This recipe assumes that 4.5″ plants are being used. To make the recipe work using larger plants, you will need to choose a pot that is larger than our suggested size or use fewer plants of each variety in the recipe.
