ROCKIN’ RUSH
Crank up the summer color! These three classics are banding together for a jam session of gold, white and raspberry pink. They’ll play sweetly together all summer and last until the fall frost curtain comes down. Here’s the set list for Rockin’ Rush.
*Best in full sun (6+ hours of sun) to light shade
Supertunia® Raspberry Rush™ Petunia
Definitely the most dazzling of the bunch, our patterned Raspberry Rush petunias steal the show in this recipe. Pairing it with solid-colored companions really makes it pop and hummingbirds swoon for its jazzy blooms. Though it may look fancy, this petunia is just as easy to care for as every other Supertunia. We love how its bright white markings are echoed in its Superbena companion.
Superbena® Whiteout™ Verbena
This staff favorite is one of our very best Superbenas, with flowers nearly three times the size of some older varieties. In this recipe, it serves to fill the container fully with its huge, pure white umbels early in the season and then becomes more trailing over time, creating a beautiful melody with its companions.
Goldilocks Rocks® Bidens
The starry, yellow blossoms of this fun mixer poke in and about the recipe as its long stems weave through the crowd. It flourishes even on the hottest days of summer without ever breaking a sweat. Expect pollinating bees to join the jam session on sunny days.
option 1:
plant your own combo
2x goldilocks rocks®
2x raspberry rush™
2x whiteout™
Tip For Success:
Verbena and Bidens are sensitive to receiving too much moisture and need to be grown in well-drained potting soil. They are perfectly suited for hanging baskets and non-glazed containers which both tend to dry out a little faster than non-porous pots. If the soil feels dry when you stick your finger in about an inch, or when the container feels light for its size, it is time to water again. It’s best to water in the morning and to direct the water towards the roots rather than wetting the foliage.
*This recipe assumes that 4.5″ plants are being used. To make the recipe work using larger plants, you will need to choose a pot that is larger than our suggested size or use fewer plants of each variety in the recipe.
